October Production - Murder Mystery

In HamDramS’ Autumn production, A Lesson in Murder, it really is all about dying to get into a good school! During the latest of our popular murder mystery dinners, you will be treated to a 3 course meal while you try to unravel the goings on at Redwood School's reunion dinner.

With the staff dealing with a love triangle, a humiliating bully and a greasy caretaker who knows more than anyone should be comfortable with, there will be entertainment aplenty as the relationships and motives unfold. And if you can match the motives with the clues then you could win a prize. But, win or lose, at least you'll get out alive - which is more than one unlucky member of staff will...

A Lesson in Murder will be performed at the Arkenstall Centre on 8th and 9th October. Tickets, priced at £15 each (including the cost of your meal – vegetarian option available), are available from Haddenham Galleries (01353 749188). A licensed bar will be available.

Directors' reflections on the last production

For our Spring production ,we staged two one act plays: No way Out by Jean-Paul Sartre, and The Bear by Anton Chekhov. Our first-time Directors, Wendy and Rick Rolph, reflect on their experiences...

Why did we do it? Well as they say, "there is only one motivation and that is desire". The Bear and No Way Out were plays that we initially chose for an evening’s read through. The idea that we should put them on as a production then took root and the inevitable happened...

It was our first effort at directing, so we approached it with some trepidation.
We were fortunate in having help from ‘seasoned’ directors plus cast members who brought to the whole process not only their enthusiasm but also a willingness to embrace innovation and share ideas.

Would we do it again? To use another saying, "success is a journey, not a destination". We can truthfully say from the beginning to the end of our directing journey, we had fun! Conclusion: give us a couple of years, maybe we will think of something else to try!
